The Kinda sorta My LIfe.

There was time when I used KINDA and SORTA in every possible sentence, this is what I am gonna do in this post too, even if it doesn't fit anywhere. So never mind  :D

When you have no life, your day KINDA starts like this.
It's not a one month break this time. I am writing after a couple of days I guess. Why? I don't know, I kinda feel like writing today.

Whitewash for the Team Green.

Written by: Bareera Rufi.

So finally the much awaited series has ended with a Whitewash resulting in alot of setbacks for Pakistan.

The torture began from the very first day when the most succesful player on SA pitches 'Taufiq Umar' got injured, followed by Haris Sohail ,then Junaid Khan and Umar Gul later on joined the company. After the Team was announced there was a fuss and a huge question-mark on the selection of WK Sarfaraz. Knowing that how well Adnan performed on SL tour even with a broken thumb. We even know that the Captain was not satisfied with he team selection and didn't even sign in the first place.

Vote for Change or be Ashamed.

I am writing this in extreme frustration and my thoughts are scattered. Just because one of my uncle said PTI won't win and when I asked him the reason after arguing for 30 minutes he went away saying " Bas tumhe nahi pta I am elder I know more " I may make no sense but you will still get the point I am trying to make.

After thinking for over a month, I have finally been able to figure out that one BIGGEST problem that we Pakistanis have.

The Lazy lame life of Raafay.

Life is good when you start your day with a Pizza

Whenever I have to write something not sad, I write while playing music. It helps. If you are playing something slow eventually you will be sad, if you are listening something fast or lively you may end up on the happy side.

Happiness reminds me, Pakistan are playing poorly against South Africa in the five day format. Losing the first two matches and on the verge of being thrashed in the third. Never have I wished for a series to end quickly.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Muhammad, in full Abū al-Qāsim Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib ibn Hāshim  was the founder of the religion of Islam, accepted by Muslims throughout the world as the last of the prophets of God.

Muhammad was the most-reviled figure in the history of the West from the 7th century until quite recent times. Because Muhammad is one of the most influential figures in history, his life, deeds, and thoughts have been debated by followers and opponents over the centuries, which makes a biography of him difficult to write.

Easy peasy Time Travel Recipe

Written by: Kaichee Mayo

So I've always been fascinated by the concept of playing with time, to be able to twist it at your own will, to re-live your most glorious moments, to peek into the future and see how things turn out so that you can be less afraid of doing them in the present .... whatever the reason  might be I believe that everyone in their lifetime has (at least once) fantasized about time travel. Over the years scientists have pondered upon the idea, trying to devise practical means to accomplish the task ... authors have written books on it .. movie makers have directed films based on the concept but nothing close to reality.

I miss the old days.

I miss the old days, days when we got worried just for exams. Cried cause of bad results or when we didn't get what we wanted from the store. When getting high meant swinging at the play ground. The only drug you knew was cough medicine. The only things that could get broken were toys. When wearing a skirt didn't mean you were a slut, race issues were who ran the fastest? War was just a card game. Life was simple & carefree. But what I remember was wanting to grow up and now that I have, I realized that those days are the best of ones life which are always cherished. We make mistakes we fall we get up we move on but its always better to learn from others mistakes and experiences so that you wont get hurt.

"When It Rains"

A thunder was it, that woke me up?
Or was it the peltering rain calling out to me?
The second hour my clock was ticking, as I slipped out.
The strong wing whipped my light dress around me,
the thundering rain drowned everything else,
exciting my senses with its Divine bliss.
I stood watching it fall on the fiberglass shades,
then sliding down onto the dark road.
The scene stood still and silent, but for the rain.
The intervening lightening shone on the falling rain,
making it glitter like shards of ice.
I held out my hands beyond the shades,
and let the sparklets fall on my open palms.
Each drop a message, a remembrance,
of each and everyone of those long ago showers.
Strange friends these rains are,
coming and going as they please,
but when there, they mirror my feelings
giving me a sense of so close a comradery,
so for that time we walk hand in hand.
it washes over me, taking the burden off my shoulders
I feel free and light-headed
So I dance in the rain, with the rain
Singing a song, humming a tune
for the joy of it all, of being together again.
Ah these rains! Why do they have to return to their own land?
Why can't they just stay by my side?
To these laments, the strong wind whispers
How could you cherish they as you do,
if you knew not their absence?
So I understand it all,
and let the rain take me to my haven, while it lasted.
Again it's the rain and me,
the pattering our chatter, thunder our laughter.
This rain, it's nature's most precious gift to me.

What is Peace.

Photo Credits: ShizaWasim (Shiza Wasin's Photography)

What is peace?
Is it the end of war?
Is it constantly smiling?
Is it having nothing to cry for?
Is it the end of all bitterness?
Is it the end of aching?
Is it a way out of this abyss?
Or maybe it is having an endless ocean of love ?

Peace is enjoying the rainy days
It is smiling to the scorching sun
It is sleeping peacefully at night
It is not being afraid of nightmares
It is not being afraid to care or love
It is not avoiding dreams
It is not insecurity
It is hope

Peace is not happiness, it is contentment

Unsolved mysteries of the World.

Grooved Spheres.

These are also known as Klerksdorp spheres. Over the last few decades, miners in South Africa have been digging up mysterious metal spheres. Origin unknown, these spheres measure approximately an inch or so in diameter, and some are etched with three parallel grooves running around the equator. Two types of spheres have been found: one is composed of a solid bluish metal with flecks of white; the other is hollowed out and filled with a spongy white substance. The kicker is that the rock in which they where found is Precambrian - and dated to 2.8 billion years old! Who made them and for what purpose is unknown.

Jinnah House.

Jinnah House was the residence of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan; in Mumbai, India. Now known informally as Jinnah House, it was named South Court and was built in 1936 at a then exorbitant price of 2 lakh (200,000) rupees when Jinnah returned to Mumbai from England to take charge of the Muslim League.

Now, worth around $60 million the house is the subject of a dispute between India, the government of Pakistan and Jinnah's daughter Dina Wadia. The bungalow is located at 2, Mount Pleasant Road (now Bhausaheb Hirey Marg) in the upmarket Malabar Hill area of South Mumbai. Its opposite neighbour is the residence of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

List of Presidents of the United States.

 1. George Washington (1789-1797)
2. John Adams (1797-1801)

China in Africa.

Several years ago, during a visit to Tanzania, I was struck by what I thought was a truly bizarre sight. Our bus was hurtling along a dirt path, choking on its own cocktail of dust and diesel fumes as we bounced around like pinballs trying not to asphyxiate. Nearby snaked a glistening, newly paved asphalt road: we couldn't access it yet, because the pavement was drying, but we could see the work crew resting nearby. Twelve Tanzanians, and their foreman, a Chinese guy.

Oymyakon: The Coldest place on Earth.

If you thought it was cold where you are at the moment then a visit to the Russian village of Oymyakon might just change your mind. Known as the 'Pole of Cold', the coldest ever temperature recorded in Oymyakon was -71.2C.

Welcome to the village of Oymyakon, in Russia.

It is named after the Oymyakon River, whose name comes from the Even word kheium 'unfrozen patch of water; place where fish spend the winter.Though, by contraries, the dictionary of Tungusic languages says Even word heyum (hэjум) (kheium seems misspelling) is 'frozen lake'.

Hottest Places on Earth.

Al-Aziziyah, Libya.

Drive 40km south of Tripoli and you'll arrive at Al-Aziziyah, where - on September 13, 1922 - the world experienced its hottest air temperature ever recorded: 57.8°C (136.04 Fahrenheit).  located in Northwest Libya, it is the hottest habitable place on Earth. The town is less than an hour by car from the Mediterranean Sea, a handy tonic is the mercury ever again spikes towards such sweltering levels.

Coldest Places on Earth

Vostok Station, Antarctica.

Vostok Station in Antarctica is one of the coldest places on Earth. The Russian research station is where the lowest recorded temperature was taken at -89.2 degrees Celsius (-128.56 Fahrenheit)  on July 21, 1983. Antarctica is not only the coldest place but also the windiest and has the highest overall elevation of any continent in the world. Despite the fact that Antarctica contains 90 percent of the ice in the world, it receives almost no rainfall, making it technically a desert.

Timbuktu.

Timbuktu  is a town in the West African nation of Mali situated 13 km (8 miles) north of the River Niger on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert. The town is the capital of the Timbuktu Region, one of the eight administrative regions of Mali. It had a population of 54,453. It has historically been  important as a trading post on the trans-Saharan caravan route and as a centre of Islamic culture (c. 1400–1600).

History.

Timbuktu is not mentioned by the early Arab geographers such as al-Bakri and al-Idrisi. The first mention is by the Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta who visited both Timbuktu and Kabara in 1353 when returning from a stay in the capital of the Mali Empire. The earliest surviving local documents are the 17th century chronicles, al-Sadi's Tarikh al-Sudan and Ibn al-Mukhtar's Tarikh al-fattash.

Can you control Everything?

Written By: Maham Shahbaz.
It seems like man can control anything, the most powerful being in the world. After the supreme power of course. If he can only think much...she was out on a park bench thinking to herself. She didn’t remember getting out of the house and sitting there at 3am. Her mom will be really angry but she didn’t care, for once she was not afraid to sit alone outside in the dark.

Maybe it was the high fever that she had, maybe it were the troubling thoughts, maybe it was the pain that was making her sore or just maybe it was the tiredness from all the unanswered questions in her head. She didn’t hear any footsteps in the cold January grass but there sat a stranger with her. The stranger had a kind smile and asked her “whatever brings a young girl out in the middle of night unattended, is never a good sign …. “ he paused a while , then added “ …you should go inside” she just stared at him, she knew she should have been scared but she wasn’t. she sat there and watched the stars humming to herself, ignoring the presence by her side… a tear trickled down but she continued … another one… she wiped it and became quiet.
