WHO IS RAAFAY?

Take some time to read this and don't misunderstand him with someone he is not. :)

Raafay is a kind of friend that one would love to have. He is a person who loves making new friends and to explore human nature. He is a kind of guy who wouldn't mind saying HI to start a conversation. He is someone who would love to hear your story and would appreciate you wherever he could. But he would barely tell his own, not because he doesn't want to, but because he thinks HIS story as not as important as other's. Or no one would want to know it. Or he doesn't want people to be sad because of him. Even though the thing is opposite. Many of us know him a bit and want to know more about him, but we don't know how. Because we're not sure if he'd tell. He just wants everyone happy. So he makes sure that he's not hurting anyone, anywhere. From my perspective, Raafay is someone, who is different from the usual people of his age. He is better than them. In most of the aspects.  Although people misunderstand him by thinking  'He has already got so many friends, why would he need me? or he doesn't need me.' That's where we're mistaken. Thats where we hurt him the most. Without even knowing. Look, let me clear this thing. Each person has HIS OWN importance or place in one's life. And keep one thing in your mind, that NO ONE ELSE. Just NO ONE can replace YOU or the place that YOU hold in anyone's life. So be cool about it. He's someone, who would never let you go. Who would always hold on to you no matter how hard it is. Whatever happens, he'll always be by your side, to tell you that everything's gonna be alright. In your bad times, when eventually everyone else would leave you, he will stay with you. To show you the brighter side of things. You can count on him each time. But there are very less people on whom he can count. That is indeed a very sad thing. He too, keep expectations from others, but ends up getting hurt when people misunderstand him most of the time. The Raafay we know, is someone who has always been lively, cheerful, optimistic and happy. But only few people know his other side. Inside him, there is a person, who too gets hurt by peoples rude gestures and comments. But he doesn't show it.  Instead, he remains silent and doesn't hate them. Because he is strong. Stronger than us at least. He doesn't like to whine about his matters in front of others, unlikely us. He wants to bring change in our society, one person each. :) He's the kind of person who'd point out the good in you and would appreciate you for it. And even he'd try to bring it out, in front of others just so that you could be more confident about it. You wouldn't find even a fragment of proudness in him. Because it is not his nature, he behaves nice with everyone. Treats everyone with the same behavior. Even if you're his new friend. People oftenly misunderstand him with being a flirt. Let me tell you, there is a lot of difference in being a flirt and being nice to everyone. He feels that one can change others with positive behavior, so he does behave positively, to everything and to everyone. Even to the ones who hate him or who have left him due to any reason. He tries to find happiness in every little thing and loves to share it with others. He has every quality that you look for, in your friend.
Its been an year since I know him. This is what I came up with. There was a time when I also used to think the way others do. But I know where I was wrong. That was not the Raafay I used to believe he is. He is what I know of him now. And all of you should know too. o you don't hurt him even by mistake.
Happy Birthday Raafay, stay happy. Always. You deserve to be.

-Aay.

Great Wall of China.

The Great Wall, one of the greatest wonders of the world, was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China.

Pakistan's Backbone: Misbah ul Haq.

Via: Cricinfo. Misbah-ul-Haq hasn't yet scored an ODI century, but apart from that he has done pretty much everything as a middle-order batsman for Pakistan. The lack of a hundred has itself put him in the record books, as the scorer of the most runs without a century in one-day internationals, but the series in the West Indies was memorable for many more reasons for a Misbah fan.

Alone in the Darkness.

Written By: Abdullah Tariq.

Alone in the darkness I wander,
Wishing someone would turn on the lights!
Confident on the outside, confused on the inside.
Seeing glints of hope,
Seeing shimmers of hope,
Wishing someone would turn on the lights
And everything would have meaning.
If not everything then something.
So I would stop wondering why it's so difficult..
Why everything is so despicable...

A Quest: Finding Myself

Written By: Fizzah Aziz

Sometimes a strange, deep understanding takes hold of my mind and heart. I see life, understand its undercurrents . I know how it has to be lived, how I'm going to live it. How I'm going to put everything right. Satisfaction seeps deep inside and I feel happy.

It was 1886, and in New York Harbor, workers were constructing the Statue of Liberty. Eight hundred miles away, another great American symbol was about to be unveiled.

Hatshepsut: The Woman Who Was King.

Hatshepsut, who lived between 1508 and 1458 BC, ruled Egypt for about two decades. Among the first female monarchs to reign anywhere in the world, she is regarded as one of the most successful pharaohs in Egypt’s long history. Hatshepsut’s prosperous reign helped shape her country into a stronger power and prepare it for future expansion into a great empire. Thanks to plenty of accounts by contemporaries and historians of the ancient world, her story remains well-known today.

Hamar Tribe: People with Strange Rituals.

Photos By: Lars Krutak.
Help taken from: BBC and Lars Krutak.

The Hamar are an Omotic community inhabiting southwestern Ethiopia. They live in Hamer woreda, a fertile part of the Omo River valley.

The Omo Valley has been described as Ethiopia’s “poisoned paradise” because although its landscape is at times extremely beautiful, especially after the rainy season when the verdant valley is filled with plant life, the rest of the year it sizzles in extreme heat much like the Arizona desert. Of course, you’re not going to find much electricity, running water, or even medical clinics here.

The Story of Pizza Hut.

In 1958, Frank and Dan Carney had an idea for a great local pizza restaurant in Wichita Kansas. The small 25 seat restaurant only had room for 9 letters on the sign… the building looked like a hut… so 'Pizza Hut' was born!

The Story of KFC.

KFC Corporation, based in Louisville, Kentucky, is one of the few brands in America that can boast a rich, decades-long history of success and innovation. It all started with one cook who created a soon-to-be world famous recipe more than 70 years ago, a list of secret herbs and spices scratched out on the back of the door to his kitchen.

The Story of McDonald's.

Can you imagine a world without the Big Mac? Or Chicken McNuggets? Or Happy Meals? Luckily, back in 1954, a man named Ray Kroc discovered a small burger restaurant in California, and wrote the first page of McDonald's history.

A Window to Lille, France.

Written By: Smile Khan (France)

Paris- Cogress Palace

To start it was a rainy day. I had to wake up earlier than usual and was still 50% dozing when a train desposits me at Paris Musée d'Orsay. I had to make a little bit more effort going to 70% awakeness to find a bus stop I never used in past. The bus crosses The Seine, moves to Place de la Concorde, a pessenger can easily see Eiffel Tower from afar. We met the Obelisk of Luxor, and we walked down l'Avenue des Champs Elysées to eventually overtake the Ark de triomphe where rests an unknown soldier. My bus drops me off at the Palace of Congress, Porte Maillot. First Step toward my destination.

Last Chance for Pakistan Cricket Team.

For: The Express Tribune.

The upcoming tour of West Indies may not seem as exciting as some of the other series we’ve played recently but for Pakistan this tour is of utmost importance.
When the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) himself says that Pakistani cricket is going through its lowest point, one has to sit up and make note. With no team ready to visit our country, endless spot fixing scandals and banned cricketers,  a lack of quality players and a string of poor performances has left questions unanswered for Pakistani cricket fans.

Ramadan Mubarak

Ramadan Mubarak to everyone from Finding Neverland Blog.

The Ashes

It all started after a satirical obituary published in a British newspaper, The Sporting Times, in 1882 after a match at The Oval in which Australia beat England on an English ground for the first time and has grown into the cricketing phenomenon that is the Ashes.

Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by everyone who looked at her, but most of all by her grandmother, and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child. Once she gave her a little riding hood of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else; so she was always called 'Little Red Riding Hood.'

Rumpelstiltskin

By the side of a wood, in a country a long way off, ran a fine stream of water; and upon the stream there stood a mill. The miller’s house was close by, and the miller, you must know, had a very beautiful daughter. She was, moreover, very shrewd and clever; and the miller was so proud of her, that he one day told the king of the land, who used to come and hunt in the wood, that his daughter could spin gold out of straw.

Sometimes.

Note: I just wrote this post to get rid of 'sometimes' as I use sometimes too much sometimes, but I guess sometimes you just have to use sometimes.

Sometimes you have to prefer your brain over your heart.
Sometimes you reach a limit that no matter how serious, nothing matters anymore.
Sometimes you take things too lightly, then they haunt you forever.
Sometimes you think you are overdoing, but actually people expect so much more.

Pakistan Army: The Pride Restored.

Written By: Aqsa Faisal.

My childhood was spent listening to the heroic tales of our brave jawaans, stories of them protecting our borders, our pride, our sovereignity. I would pester my grandfather to repeat the letter sent to Major Aziz Bhatti by his mother and we would laugh at her anxiety and the sweet pain she felt that his son had shaved his head and had lost his perfect curls, 'the most beautiful of the curls she has ever seen'.
