You're Special.

There are some people in your life you always know they are important in your life but you are never able to tell them properly that they do mean a lot.

Friends, you seldom make friends in your life, there are lucky ones who are able to do so. But the luckiest ones are the people who are able to make good, true friends. Friends you always know will be there for you, you know will make you laugh and smile, will support you and understand you.

Why did America Kill our Grandmother? A Pakistani Family visits USA for Answers.

Nabila Rehman, a survivor of Drone attacks.
Drawing on a pad of paper in a Washington DC hotel, Nabeela ur Rehman recalled the day her grandmother was killed. "I was running away," the nine-year told the Guardian. "I was trying to wipe away the blood."

"It was as if it was night all of the sudden."

The date was 24 October 2012, the eve of Eid al-Adha, the Muslim holy day. Nabeela's father, Rafiq ur Rehman, a school teacher living in the remote Pakistani tribal region of North Waziristan, was dropping off sweets at his sister's home when it happened.

He had hoped to make the visit a family affair but his mother urged him to go alone. Rafiq did as she wished then stopped at the local mosque for evening prayers before taking the bus home. As the vehicle came to a halt at his stop, Rehman noticed something unsettling: members of his community were preparing to bury a body at a small graveyard nearby.

Please Tell Me, Mr Obama, Why A US Drone Assassinated My Mother.

Mother of Rafiq ur Rehman, who was killed in a Drone Strike.

A survivor yet victim of drone attacks. Rafiq ur Rehman's open letter to President Obama.

The last time I saw my mother, Momina Bibi, was the evening before Eid al-Adha. She was preparing my children’s clothing and showing them how to make sewaiyaan, a traditional sweet made of milk. She always used to say: the joy of Eid is the excitement it brings to the children.

Last year, she never had that experience. The next day, 24 October 2012, she was dead, killed by a US drone that rained fire down upon her as she tended her garden.

Daphne Sheldrick: Savior of Wild Animals.

When, in 1994, a cow elephant looked up from the muddy pool in which she’d been drinking, raised her ears and walked up to Daphne Sheldrick, she assumed the creature must be her old friend Eleanor. Orphaned at two, Eleanor had been raised by Sheldrick before returning to the wild. Now in her forties, Eleanor would still leave the herd and run to greet her adoptive human “mother” when she saw her.

There was another famous quote which he used a lot whenever Pakistan was playing at Sharjah, was about to win a match and the camera focused towards the crowd.

My Legal Journey From Muslim to Non-Muslim and Back.

Written By: Anonymous

I was born a Muslim. Until the second amendment was passed in Pakistan’s constitution in 1974, I remained a legal Muslim.  I was very young when this happened, too young to remember it well. Hence, I did not have the opportunity to carry out and observe Islam’s practices before I was declared non-Muslim by State and before these practices were banned on me.

Unanswered Questions for Humans.

Are We Alone In the Universe?

The mathematical odds say no: There are hundreds of billions of stars in our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe. Close to home, scientists have already discovered 150 planets orbiting nearby stars. In short, scientists say the universe is likely full of places where the conditions are ripe for intelligent life to evolve. "The really big question is when, if ever, we'll have the technological wherewithal to reach out and touch such intelligence," writes Richard A. Kerr. We haven't been able to discover any other signs of life but the quest is ongoing.

The Horrors of Internet Addiction

We all use Internet these days, most of us use it more than necessary. I am among the guilty ones too, but it has become an addiction.

I remember the time when I barely used Internet, all I did was to keep track of the cricket related stuff going on. Most of my time was spent playing cricket or reading books.

Hassan Sadpara: First Pakistani to Climb Six highest Mountains. (Interview)

Kashmir is called heaven on earth because of it's beauty and it wouldn't be unfair to call Gilgit Baltistan the same because it is part of Kashmir. This beautiful place, which is situated in the shadows of Himalayas mesmerizes everyone who visit from around the world. Another speciality of this beautiful place are the people who are as beautiful as the place itself.

The lake of Satpara is one of the most beautiful lakes of Pakistan, recently a dam is being constructed nearby which will enhance the beauty of the lake. Anyways, coming to the point. Hassan Sadpara is also a resident of this valley. The same Hassan Sadpara who is the first Pakistani to have climbed six eight-thousanders including the world's highest peak Everest (8848m) besides K2 (8611m), Gasherbrum I (8080m), Gasherbrum II (8034m), Nanga Parbat (8126 m), Broad Peak (8051m). He is also credited for summiting 5 of the eight-thousanders without using supplemental oxygen.

This was a sudden interaction, so it initially started with the usual questions.

A Long Way Gone: Story of a 12 Year old Boy Soldier.

Written By: Ishmael Beah who is the author of A Long Way Gone, Memoir of a Boy Soldier.

Sometimes I feel that living in New York City, having a good family and friends, and just being alive is a dream, that perhaps this second life of mine isn’t really happening. Whenever I speak at the United Nations, Unicef or elsewhere to raise awareness of the continual and rampant recruitment of children in wars around the world, I come to realize that I still do not fully understand how I could have possibly survived the civil war in my country, Sierra Leone.

The Real face of Nawaz Sharif.

In 1997 when Nawaz Sharif was elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan with a heavy mandate, he came to the PTV Lahore Station for recording his first speech to the nation.

Back then, I was GM Lahore and was waiting to receive him. He came out of the car, suddenly came towards me and asked; Did you direct that drama Zard Dopehr? I said yes. Then he asked again; You wrote it yourself too? I said yes again. He looked at me angrily and said; Now get ready to pay the price of what you did. He said that in front of the press and TV.

The Nobel Prize.

The Nobel Prize

A pacifist at heart and an inventor by nature, Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel invented dynamite. However, the invention that he thought would end all wars was seen by many others as an extremely deadly product. In 1888, when Alfred's brother Ludvig died, a French newspaper mistakenly ran an obituary for Alfred which called him the "merchant of death."

Not wanting to go down in history with such a horrible epitaph, Nobel created a will that soon shocked his relatives and established the now famous Nobel Prizes.

Things We can do that WILL Change Pakistan.

Well deary, then prove it properly.
We all say we love Pakistan, we all say we can do anything for Pakistan and we all are ready to die for Pakistan.

On the other hand we are also a nation who is always willing to do the big things but unwilling to do the small things.

We always forget it is actually drops of water that lead to a sea or the bricks that lead to a building. Great nations are judged by the things they do, not by what they can do or are capable of doing.

How about we do the small things right? Thins we can do on an individual level, in our everyday life, which can bring the actual change we talk about. We are ready to kill, die and sacrifice for Pakistan so small things shouldn't be a big problem, right?

The Journey between Darkness and Light.

The End.

The very last thing I can remember was a strange feeling .. that I will be lost. I will be away from the people I love. I was hopeless, I thought this is the end and that life was cruel. But I wasn't really scared because there were my loved ones around me.

You depend on people a lot, before life, during life and after life, you need them all the time you want someone to be there for you in the good and bad times, but perhaps sometimes you don't care for them as much as they deserve, I thought.
