Pakistan- Before Anything Else

Pakistan Flag

Our motherland maybe going through difficult times, but whatever we are it is because of this country. Our existence attains meaning because of Pakistan only. We are the ones who can and must work for our nation’s better future and for a softer image worldwide. It is because of our own people that we stand on such a precarious cliff today and no one from the outside will come to help us out, we must help ourselves out of these trails and tribulations. No matter how small the part we play maybe but nonetheless we must play our part. We, the youth of today, are the promise of a better tomorrow.

Please stop making fun of your own country, your own people because indirectly you are making fun of your own selves. There already is a lot of negativity around, please don’t spread more. There is a lot of positive stuff around to spend our energies on. What can you possibly gain by making fun of people like Misba Ul Haq, our  brilliant Pathan brothers, hardworking Olympic players and a lot more? Do you get kicks out of it? If yes, that’s really low. They are our heroes, be proud of them! They may not win the race each time but they sure try their best.
When indulging in such negativity we forget that all this isn’t a joke for them, for this is their job and we literally harass them verbally and sometimes even physically (in airports, stadiums etc) for something completely out of their control. Get into their shoes for a minute and think what they must think when they hear such jokes. Are these the people we play for, are they whom we represent??? I think a minute was enough to get a feeling of what we make them go through...

What exactly are we ourselves doing? What makes us the better judges? What gives us the authority to criticize them? Nothing!! As students, are we doing justice to our studies? No. Are we putting our best in our jobs? Seldom. What to talk of anything on a higher level, we can’t even put our trash in the trash cans and then we’ve got the nerve to find flaws in others. It’s shameful. When we aren’t fulfilling our duties we don’t have any right to point our fingers at others.

I remember when I was small; the 14th Augusts at that time had a whole different air around them. The people really felt the sacrifices offered by our forefathers, their feelings genuine and sincere. I don’t mean to judge your feelings; you know better about them. But generally what we see these days on the roads is just a portrayal of putting yourselves and others’ well-being in danger. Wheeling on main roads in traffic hours, fireworks in public places... is this all we’ve got for our country; the country which is our identity? Why not try something more productive and progressive?

Everyone has their own prospective; I think we have lost the zeal to love our country in the true sense of the word. We are generations apart from those who sacrificed their lives, their families, their homes and their livelihoods for the attainment of this beautiful homeland. Maybe this is why we have forgotten the feel of what it is like to lose something we love... we have forgotten that Junoon se aur Ishq se milti hai Azadi; Qurbani ke bahon me milti hai azad; Not by sitting under our parents protective wings and criticising every single thing that passes under our eyes.

I’m a part of everything I've written, and we, together as the youth of this country, must work towards its progress. Be united against all enemies; may they be social, political, ethical, moral, national, or international. Only then can we be proud Pakistanis!

Dear Pakistan, Happy 72nd Birthday!! May you live always! Proud to be a part of you!

Happy Independence Day!! Pakistan Zindabad, Pakistan Paindabad!
