Found the Neverland?

They say flowers are the most beautiful beings on this planet if you are to explain beauty. One day while wandering around a garden I came across this flower. It was multicolored easily differentiable among the thousands of flowers. By far the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life. They told me she was the princess of all the flowers in the world. I was suddenly attracted towards it without even thinking that I have been avoiding flowers or beauty for a long time now. But still just couldn't resist the temptation and went towards it. As I moved closer I felt as if there was no gravity force in between and I was attracted towards it, it was just the sheer feeling in my heart. Just when I came near and saw there were already many admirers close to that flower praising its beauty.

Love is not a Victory March.

Written by Faryha Awan :) Original article is here.

She looked down the window that faced the street. It was decorated so beautifully, you would think it is a scene out of some Disney movie. And snow was adding a serene look to the whole decorum. She could see groups of people, of all ages, merrily roaming and wishing happiness to everyone for New Year.

She signed in despair, longing for a heart so light and so happy. She was calling him for the 34th time in last half hour, yet his number was busy. “The painfully excruciating moment when you call your boyfriend on New Year at 12 and he is on another call.” She typed it on twitter and pressed enter.

She again looked down the window. People were celebrating New Year night with new zest and zeal. She saw them checking their watches and making new plans and new goals for the upcoming year. They were happy, they were excited. But she was not. Not a teensy bit happy. On the contrary she was afraid of what laid ahead. Their laughters were strangling and weakening her, like her own personal kryptonite. Right now she felt as if someone had taken her windpipe in hand and was squeezing it so bad that she couldn’t breathe.

Shaheed ki maut, qaum ki hayaat hai.

I remember Family late night tales we had back in the day.

We would all bug our Uncle to tell his stories of survival through the years, because Baba bechaaray was always tired after driving such long routes. But we were ever fresh, always ready for family fun nights, ever ready to stay up till 6am.

We would all gather around the heater, dim out the lights, or if there was no electricity (loadshedding), put up the candles. Wrap ourselves in blankets & sit around in a circle. Bring in tons of 'moong-phallia' (peanuts), 'badaam' (almond) and other dry-fruits. And eagerly wait for the narration that was to come.

From the hot, dusty days of near-Rajasthan region to cold freezing night in the same location. We loved to hear about all the places he was deployed at. Siachen, was a main part of his life. The stories and experiences of those areas used to give us the chills. Horrifying yet enchanting. We were always ready for one.

Funny, Sad and Strange.

Life can be funny sometimes. One day it shows you the best side and the next day it shows the worst side. Last month or so has been the same for me. Without going into much details, I was supposed to be operated for a reason and the weeks after getting this news were really tough on me, but when this toughness was getting worse thankfully the medicines worked and I'm feeling better now and the scary feeling is all gone, for now at least :D

This time my absence from writing was a forced one, without a stable Internet connection, electricity and addition of blog error didn't let me post anything for a week or two.  I remember two months ago I posted about my blog having 50000 blog views, thanks now the visitors have doubled and I also am getting very good and quality articles from my friends.

The Way Forward.

All the rumors of sacking Misbah as a captain are laid to rest after Pakistan's victory in the Asia Cup. The fear of Pakistan going downhill after the ODI series lost against England is no more there.  Pakistan cricket has been stable ever since the disastrous tour of England ended. For once the cricket season ended  on a high with not much to worry about.

But what's next for Pakistan. There are still many questions that have not been answered yet. Who will be the next captain for Pakistan. Which new ball bowlers will have a future in the team. For how long can we persist with spinners as our main weapon. Who is the right choice as a wicket keeper in different formats, and more importantly what is the right balance for the team to go forward.

Unfortunately Pakistan don't play much Cricket this year. A tour to Sri Lanka in June with 3 Test, 5 ODI, and 2 T20's. Followed with the ICC World T20 competition in September and the last official series for the year against Australia in October which includes only shorter format games.

Realities of Life.

Written By: Zobia Akhtar

I love you mother, please don’t leave me. I promise I will be a good girl, the best daughter ever. I’ll take care of the house, even father! Go to the church everyday! Will do anything! Just, please don’t leave, stay strong mother…please!” Alison exclaimed as she tried to force her tears to stop. She was holding her mother’s hand tight, sitting next to her, as she looked her in the eye, teardrops rolling down her face. “Mother! Say something! PLEASE!” Alison shouted out, still holding back her tears, her mother could not respond, not with the oxygen mask on her mouth. The two were sitting in the operation theater, Alison’s mother had a drip running through her veins in her hand, she had a dressing on one side of her neck, there was a screen which was monitoring her vital signs attached to her. The doctors were using all means possible to keep her alive, but in the end, no effort was enough.***

“Honey? How’s it going?”Darrel, Allison’s father asked as her walked into her room. She was on her bed, lying upside down, clutching her mothers picture, tears were flowing down her face uncontrollably. There were bottles of alcohol on the floor Darrel couldn’t help but flinch, he had a sinking feeling in his heart. Decided best to leave his daughter alone for now, she’d get over this loss eventually, he hoped.

Pakistan Army: Qaum kay Jawaan.

"Shaheedoun kay lahu say jo mitti abaad hoti hai,
Bari zarkhaiz hoti hai, Bari shada'ab hoti hai... "
This post is directly dedicated to all the shaheeds and jawaans of our sacred country, Pakistan. As everyone knows, Pakistan has a history, strongly linked to "demo-crazy" and "dictatorship". Sadly, our past cannot be changed.

But more sad a part is when, for actions of a handful of people, a whole institution is blamed and their dutiful sacrifices are forgotten, their actions mocked and their lives taken for granted. I am pretty sure we all might not have been alive, or if we did, wouldn't have been free. Those wars they've fought '71 and '99. Those numerous times when they jumped to the borders in troubled times.

A Sandpiper To Bring You Joy

A Sandpiper to bring you joy

This is a True Story. I liked it so much that I wanted to share it with everyone. Original link of the story is here.

She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live. I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world begins to close in on me. She was building a sand castle or something and looked up, her eyes blue as the sea.

“Hello,” she said. I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child.
“I’m building,” she said.

“I see that. What is it?” I asked, not caring.
“Oh I don’t know, I just like the feel of the sand.”
That sounds good, I thought, and slipped off my shoes. A sandpiper glided by.

“That’s a joy,” the child said.
“It’s what?”
“It’s a joy. My mama says sandpipers come to bring us joy.”

The bird went on down the beach. “Good-bye joy,” I muttered to myself, “hello pain,” and turned to walk on. I was depressed; my life seemed completely out of balance.
“What’s your name?” She wouldn’t give up.

Load Shedding and Lazy Me!

I seriously don't feel like writing anything. I had like 20+ articles planned but I just don't have the stamina to write. Thanks to 12 hour load shedding which has finished any remaining chances :D

It seriously is strange, A few streets away is the house of Pakistan's Prime Minister. Full security 24/7. No shortage of electricity, everything safe and sound. But here, thieves around, motor bikes snatched, people shot and no electricity. How can a world differ 360 degree in the same colony? well then its Pakistan.

7 reason Humsafar sucked.

By Faryha Awan :)
Original article is here.

Sure, that EP guy is an eye candy and sure, we all love Naveen Waqar and Mahira Khan and sure we all laughed our asses off when saifi goes “phir mujhey Mustafa bhai kiyun achay lagtay hain” in bol.. and sure this was irrelevant.. But still, Hamsafar is a deeply flawed lame novel which could have been completed in 6 episodes yet they HAD to drag it and REPEAT an episode. And on what basis do I dare say that Hamsafar, thou sucketh, is as follow:

TREK to Miranjani.

By: Talha Masood Khan :)

Trekking and mountaineering have always been my utmost dream since when I was a child, but my distance to the locations and my bulkiness never allowed me. It lay long forgotten until I shifted to Rawalpindi and I realized that I can still do it. My younger brother is very active trekker, and had trekked numerous treks in „Margla hills‟ and „Galiat region‟. I trekked for the first time with him to..Monal‟ through Trail 3‟, considering it an easy job. But believe me it never was! Unlucky sunny day and my bulkiness was a barrier standing in between. Luckily my consistency and determination overcame them and I made it to „Monal‟ through „Fireline‟ in around two hours. Trekking; besides being a very tiresome job, has numerous bright sides. The thru trek sightseeing, the natural environment and the „feel‟ of being at the top of the world are always worth bearing the downsides.

Seeking justice for our own brothers.

A thoughtful article by Iqra Asif :)

Our beloved country Pakistan emerged on the world’s map on 14th August, 1947-A day to be remembered by all of us. Since its birth, Pakistan has been facing countless problems amongst which Education, Leadership, Power crisis, security issues, corruption, Honor killing, Terrorism and Injustice have been the top most. These issues are to be kept under the limelight and need to be worked upon if Pakistan is to stand as an honorable and prosperous nation.

I wont really brag about all these issues as all of us are pretty much aware of them and also understand the importance of resolving them as soon as we can because these problems have a strong influence on our social lives and are also affecting the standard of our lives, both as a nation and individually, which in turn is making most of the Pakistanis, especially the young blood, the youth of Pakistan, very aggressive. If these problems are not considered and resolved within time then one can’t even imagine Pakistan's condition in the upcoming years. I hope Allah SWT gives us enough strength, power and courage to stand firm in the face of these problems and overcome them as soon as possible, thus eliminating all the negative elements from this Land of pure.

Keeping aside all the other issues for a little while and talking about injustice, one can take Baluchistan (The largest of the four provinces of Pakistan and a hub of Natural resources such as the Natural Gas, coal, minerals, gold) as an evidence. Yes, I for once would like to talk about it. Just like how Imran Khan in one of his press conferences said that "Baluchistan is a serious problem but it is continuously being ignored by the mainstream political parties". Mr. Khan has been specifically quoted here to show my support for him and his political party, PTI, just like how most of the other youngsters, the youth of Pakistan are behind him and fully support and appreciate him for the quick turn around he has
